EonCoat’s Aesthetic and Corrosion Protection Capabilities

Published 12th May, 2025

Itero Australia has been an EonCoat specialist applicator for over 2 years now. In that time, we have found a common misconception: that EonCoat may not look as cosmetically appealing as other epoxy coatings more traditionally utilised in the industry.

While EonCoat is a ceramic coating that is porous, it can be applied to complex structures with a high-quality finish when applied by experienced applicators and the right application equipment. The images below showcase examples of this, along with overcoat options suitable in some environments that also provide a more cosmetically appealing finish.

We have found that while cosmetic concerns have their place, the primary objective of protective coatings is to prevent corrosion. EonCoat is specifically engineered for long-term corrosion protection and ESG complia nce for carbon steel and concrete. It utilises technology that alloys the steel surface, creating an iron magnesium phosphate passive layer similar to that of stainless steel. This acts like a battery system, providing energy for the system’s self-healing capabilities. When applied at 500 dry film thickness (dft), EonCoat has a lifespan of up to 30 years.

Our experience in applying this system has enabled our teams to deliver a quality finish with a 30-year warranty over deep corrosion pitting, in high chloride environments, in environmentally sensitive areas while delivering increased productivity.

Itero has 2 high-volume pumps for larger applications and 1 specialised low-pressure pump for difficult-to-access locations ready to support projects and sites interested in on-site trial applications.
